A Heritage of Innovation
 by Don Nielson
- SRI’s First Half Century -
-  As many of you know, I spent almost my entire professional life, some 40 years, in research and management at SRI

-  This evening I would like to tell you a bit about that place in perhaps two ways:
   -  in terms of some of its outcomes, some of which you will hopefully find interesting and important
   -  also in terms of some of the important characteristics of its culture and people

-  Some of these characteristics are consciously inculcated and some flow naturally from any research environment.

-But given the environment we are all now in, I will also try to place these stories of innovation in a context appropriate to the values we learn in church and which, if practiced, enoble any secular organization.  So, what are those values?
