Created by Luke Hohmann in the book “Innovation Games®: Creating Breakthrough Products Through Collaborative Play,” innovation games are a series of interactive techniques for getting your customers and prospects to help you create the products they want. Innovation Games can be used to understand customer needs, identify product functionality, learn how customers use products, or help you shape your products for the future.
Attendees learned about this exciting approach to innovation and how it can ensure that involved cross-functional teams feel highly invested in returning actionable results. Scott Gilbert, president of Enthiosys, discussed:
- Overview of Innovation Games & real-world examples
- Collaboration techniques vs. traditional market research
Scott also led the group in a live Innovation Game.

This looks like a VERY interesting topic and should be a great session. I have long been intrigued by “serious games” and I an also intrigued to explore to what extend these types of applications can also be deployed in 3D immersive environments, also known as virtual worlds. I plan to attend and look forward to what should be a great session.
