Scrum identifies the need for a product owner (PO) on every project, but doesn’t provide much guidance on what they do or how they line up with the product management (PM) role, which is well-established at most software companies. Especially for revenue-generating software that ships to many customers, how do we think about the product owner and product manager roles? Hear from the front lines what makes product owners and product managers successful.
Rich Mironov is CMO of Enthiosys, an agile product management consulting firm, works with agile teams as product manager/product owner. He’s written and spoken extensively about the PM/PO split, and is chair of the product manager/product owner track for Agile 2009.
