Every revenue model is different, and experienced revenue/pricing analysts usually start with a clean spreadsheet. For those who have only done this a few times (or never), it’s handy to have some starter kits.
The revenue model you build depends strongly on your pricing model. For instance, here is a product revenue template for traditional price-per-copy and price-per-box approaches, as well as a service model template for fee-based activities and a transaction revenue approach for items priced by the copy, by the drink, by the hour, per fax page, or otherwise on a usage model. All use Microsoft Excel.
You may ultimately build your own model from scratch, but these will provide some ideas for where to begin.
