SaaS “chefs and grocers” presentation
The original version of this presentation was given as an April 2007 talk for SVPMA describing the difficult shift from licensed software to hosted services (software-as-a-service). It relentlessly analogized as chefs versus grocers.
Rich revised and re-presented this talk in May 2008 as part of Ryma Technology’s ongoing Product Management View webinar series, retitled “Grocers and Chefs: Service-Model Thinking for Product-Model Folks.” With the SaaS and hosted services markets moving so fast, it needed substantial restructuring to stay current.
